Position : Project Coordinator, Sierra Leone

Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF) is a non-profit organization with over 30 years of experience building and administering public-private partnerships for social impact at scale. Project Last Mile (PLM) is a public-private partnership administered by GETF that leverages the supply chain and marketing expertise of The Coca-Cola Company and its network to improve medicine distribution and uptake of health services across Africa. In Sierra Leone, Project Last Mile has worked with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the National Medical Supply Agency (NMSA), and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) to strengthen last-mile delivery and test

integrated digital inventory management solutions.

Project Last Mile is seeking a versatile and driven Route-to-Market Project Coordinator to support this program in-country. The Project Coordinator will function at an operational level to ensure that the country project is effectively executed. This role will be required to activate and mobilize the country project structures, processes, and resources to execute the project plan and outcomes, in coordination with local stakeholders. This role will report to the Project Manager, who will oversee all technical and strategic aspects of the project in-country. This position is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.


Position Requirements:

  • Comfortable spending the majority of time working in-field. Accompanying and monitoring operational resources, including contractor staff and delivery teams through route riding, is critical.
  • Proactive, results-driven individual who uses a high level of initiative in managing a changing (and at times, challenging) work environment.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual who functions well independently and within a team setting.
  • Able to facilitate solutions and mobilize resources across networks/stakeholders in a diplomatic, yet driven manner.
  • Excellent communicator, verbally and in writing. English essential.
  • An administrative person with strong organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in public health and supply chain programs in Sierra Leone is strongly beneficial.


  • Minimum of three years of related experience in the supply chain or health sector.
  • Willingness to travel within Sierra Leone (*in line with COVID-19 restrictions).
  • Previous experience in the field of Supply Chain, in particular, route supervision,
  • fleet, and storeroom management).

Competencies Required:

  • Self-starter attitude and willingness to work independently.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Ability to work and troubleshoot in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Adaptability and ability to re-prioritize according to a changing context.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with all types
  • of stakeholders and personalities.
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to operate specialized software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat).

About the Role

Key Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the Project Manager with gathering and validating required data and inputs to support the development and refinement of technical deliverables.
  • As directed, support coordination and field visits with implementing partners to address technical challenges, providing feedback to the Project Manager on status of partner implementation, areas requiring Project Last Mile support, and potential implementation risks. This will include visits to health facilities in coordination with government and implementing partners.
  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating required in-country resources to achieve the contracted objectives in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Assist in coordinating country-level stakeholder relationships and communication requirements as requested by the Project Manager.
